The Parish Traditions of Grace Episcopal Church

Back Home Up

What is a Fellowship Group?

        1.  Formed by drawing names out of a “hat”.
        2. Groups of 8-9 people will gather together once a month at a group member’s home for a simple meal, with the main focus on fellowship: sharing and getting to know one another.
        3. The group will meet for 6 months before having their names placed into the “hat” to have new groups formed.

Fellowship Groups, or Dinner Groups, are a great way to meet and talk with people from Grace Church.  These are people you see in church on Sunday mornings, or church activities, but may not know very well. Each group will decide how they want their group to work; pot luck meals, or the host/hostess will provide the food, etc.  Some people like to have people gather in their living rooms to eat and chat together there. Others will have room around their dinning room table for a meal.  It doesn’t matter the “how” it’s done, but the “why” it’s done - to get to know one another.

We will change the groups at the Epiphany Supper on Tuesday, January 6, 2009.

If you won't be able to attend the Epiphany Supper, but still wish to be involved in these groups, just email me and I will be sure you are added to a group.  We'll let you know which group you are in.
The groups will meet for six months before they are redrawn. They will be changed up again at the Outdoor Service in June.

By having 8-9 people in a group, not everyone in a Fellowship Group will have to host the group in their home if they don’t want to or if they don’t have room for a large group.
