Painting
for Young Artists (3rd and 4th grades)
Students will be encouraged to
experiment with a variety of painting tools (brush, palette knife, sponge,
fingers, etc.), gain knowledge of the color wheel by mixing their own colors
using only the primary colors plus white and black acrylic paints, and work on a
variety of bases (paper, cardboard and canvas).
Inspiration for painting will come from: viewing artwork of the masters (such a Monet, Picasso, Kandinsky, etc.), listening to a variety of music, principals of design and the student's own imagination.
