Jane Blackerby
Director and Teacher
 

Jane received her degrees from Virginia Tech in 1996.  She has undergraduate work in Early Elementary Education from Salem  College.  Jane as lived in Lexington her entire life and is married with two daughters, ages 9 and 6, and two step-sons, ages 9 and 7, who all graduated from The Children's School.

Jane is beginning her second year as Director and sixth year as a teacher at The Children's School.  She attends Grace Episcopal church.

 

Carolyn Wolfe 
Teacher, Older Room


Carolyn graduated from Clemson University with a BA in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education.  Carolyn has lived in Lexington since 1985 and is married with three children, ages 19, 15, and 14.  All of her children are past graduates of The Children's School.

This is Carolyn's seventh year teaching at The Children's School.  She attends Grace Episcopal Church.
 


 

 

 

Karen Carrickhoff
Teacher, Younger Children

Karen graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill in 1974 with a BA in Early Childhood Education, and has lived in Lexington for 33 years.  She is currently teaching Kindergarten at Welcome Elementary School and will retire at the end of 2010 with 20 years of Kindergarten experience.  Karen is a member of First Presbyterian Church where she has taught 3,4, and 5 year olds Sunday school for over 10 years.  She has three children (one is a graduate of The Children's School) and two grandchildren ages 10 and 7 months.

Karen will begin her career at The Children's School in January of 2011.
